Option Trees

NeXtMidas commands are physically organized into file bundles called option trees. The option tree concept simplifies the logistics of supporting different NeXtMidas installations, each with its own unique combination of factory-supplied and locally developed commands. The need for something like option trees is a direct consequence of NeXtMidas' open architecture, which encourages site-specific customization of command sets.

The following subsections describe option trees in more detail:

  • Structure - Directory structure within an option tree
  • Dictionary - Contents and format of the dictionary that describes the commands in each option tree
  • Factory-Supplied Option Trees - List of option trees provided in the NeXtMidas baseline.
