Commenting Command Sequences

In a macro, a non-executable comment begins with an exclamation point (!). You can place a comment on its own line, or insert it after a string.

The following example demonstrates both acceptable and unacceptable forms of commenting:

! This is a comment
startmacro
  ! Yet another comment
  res a 2 ! This is also a comment

  res b " ! This is not a comment"
res c "str" ! But, this is a comment

!!! This is a comment, too.
endmacro
