Basic Command Form

NeXtMidas commands begin with a command name and may be followed by parameters (specifying the arguments required by the command) and switches. The command name specifies which command to execute. The name is case-insensitive and may be abbreviated, but only if the abbreviation is not ambiguous with any other command. For example, conf invokes the CONFIDENCE command and config invokes CONFIGURE. To see a complete list of NeXtMidas commands in the command dictionary, type MENU at the NeXtMidas shell prompt:

nM> menu

After each command, the letter I, P or M designates the command as an Intrinsic, Primitive or Macro.

To see a full explanation of a specified command (i.e., syntax, parameter requirements, command operation), type EXPLAIN <command> after the NeXtMidas prompt:

nM> explain <command>

or

nM> expl <command>
