  • There are a number of special AUX entries:

    CWD - Current Working Directory

    This is the current working directory for the OS when the shell was started.

    This is automatically set and should not be altered.

    HOME - User's Login Directory

    This is automatically set and should not be altered.

    HOMEPATH - The Current Homepath

    Home macros (also called percent macros) are run from this directory

    This should only be changed via the HOMEPATH command.

    DAT - NeXtMidas System Data

    NeXtMidas SYS option tree DAT subdirectory ($NMROOT/nxm/sys/dat)

    Contains a number of sample files used in demos and testing

    RAM - In-Memory Files and Pipes

    NeXtMidas in-memory directory (ram:). Very useful for high-speed file access and WebStart applications

    Any active data pipes will be listed in here. (See the Macros module for details.)

    1 - Typical Midas User's Data Directory

    Typical Midas user write directory (/midas/data1/+/), can be changed as appropriate.

    11 - /data11/+/

    Typical Midas directory, not available on all systems

    12 - /data12/+/

    Typical Midas directory, not available on all systems

    99 - X-Midas System Data

    X-Midas SYS option tree DAT subdirectory ($XMDISK/xm/dat), available if X-Midas is installed

X-Midas Users Take Note:
You may recognize the AUXs 1, 11, 12, and 99 from your X-Midas experience, NeXtMidas uses them similarly.
