  • The RESULTS Command:
    • The RESULTS command (commonly shortened to RES) can be used to create and/or set the value of a result or get the value of a result.
    • The RESULTS command combines the functionality of both SET and GET depending on the number of parameters given.
      • It takes in two parameters LABEL= and VALUE=. The label is the name of the result and value is the new value for the result.
      • If only LABEL= and VALUE= are specified it functions like SET.
      • If only LABEL= is specified it functions like GET.
      • If neither LABEL= nor VALUE= are specified it lists all available results.
    • Example:
      nM> res x 10
      nM> res x
        L: X = 10
  • Escape sequences can be inserted into RESULTS Strings to allow for tabs, newlines, and a host of other special characters.
    • Generally, all escape sequences recognized by Java (including Unicode) are allowed.
    • Like Java, the escape sequences start with a backslash ("\") followed by a character or characters.
    • Unicode escape sequences start with "\u" followed by four hex digits.
    • nM> res s:tabs "A\tB\tC"
          nM> res tabs
          5S: TABS = A B C
          nM> res s:heart "\u2665"
          nM> res heart
          1S: HEART = ♥
