  • Lab 1 (solution):
    • Here is what you should have done:
      1. Start a new NeXtMidas session.
        $ nmstart
      2. Start the NeXtMidas shell.
        $ nm
      3. Set a result, X to 7.5.
        nM> set x 7.5
      4. Compute the value of X multiplied by 3.5 and store the result in Y.
        nM> calculator y x 3.5 *
      5. Now change the value of X to be 2.5.
        nM> set x 2.5
      6. Compute the value of X multiplied by Y and store the result in hexadecimal notation in Z.
        nM> calculator/hex z x y *
      7. What are the values of X, Y, and Z?
        nM> get x
          D: X               = 2.5
        nM> get y
          D: Y               = 26.25
        nM> get z
        10S: Z               = 0x00000034
