  • Using DEFAULT <command>:
    • The DEFAULT command lists the default values for a command. For example:
      nM> defa mess
      INFO: MESS*AGE;SYS I,6 ,FUNC=QUERY,ID=,MSG=,NAME=,INFO=,DATA=,
      INFO: MESSAGEL*OG;SYS P,4 ,,,ROWS=20,COLS=132,

    • The name of the command has a * specifying the least number of characters required to identify the command. In this example, any of "mess", "messa", or "messag" will be identified as "message", while "messagel" and "messagelo" will be identified as "messagelog".
  • What it shows:
    • The full name of the command.
    • Type of command (M=Macro, P=Primitive, I=Intrinsic).
    • Number of parameters.
    • Default values for the parameters (in order).
