  • Accessing Files Using the nxm. ("dot") Syntax:
    • Files can also be accessed via their package name.
      nM> plot nxm.sys.dat.world.prm
<Plots the world.prm file in the DAT area of SYS>
    • This feature is highly recommended!
      • This is a very portable way to access files.
      • Use of this syntax is common in tests cases.
      • This is the easiest way of specifying a file in a specific option tree.
Java Experts Take Note:
This way of referring to a file is based on the Java package naming scheme. The only differences being that it must start with "nxm." and it has a file extension at the end (since not all files have a .class extension). Because of this file extension, NeXtMidas enforces a strict ordering of:
nxm.<option_tree>.<area>.<file_name>.<file_extension>
