  • Accessing Files by Name (files in the read/write AUX):
    • Files in the READ aux list can be accessed by name.
      nM> plot world.shp
      <Plots the world.shp file found in the DAT AUX>
    • A Midas file with the extension .prm or .tmp may be accessed without an extension.
      • Use of this is discouraged as it causes problems when accessing files without an extension or when accessing files on the web.
      • This feature may be removed from future versions of NeXtMidas.
  • Accessing Files by Name and AUX (files in any AUX):
    • When a file by the same name exists in multiple AUXes, it can be accessed by explicitly stating the AUX name.
      nM> plot world.shp
      <Plots the world.shp file found in the DAT AUX>
      nM> plot world.shp{AUX=MAP}
      <Plots the world.shp file from the MAP AUX>
